The initiative

The StartCup Ticino competition is an initiative of the USI-SUPSI Start-Up Promotion Center (CP Start-Up) promoted by the Ticino Regional Innovation System aiming at fostering entrepreneurship in the territory. The purpose of the competition is to reward the most innovative and promising business projects, conceived or realized in Ticino in recent years.

The awards and the sponsors

Thanks to the contribution of the Department of Finance and Economics of the Canton Ticino, through its Economic Development Office, the EFG Bank Sponsor, the institutional partners - USI, SUPSI, AGIRE foundation - the top five finalists of the StartCup Ticino 2017 will be awarded with rewards of:

50'000 CHF to the StratCup Ticino 2017 winner
30'000 CHF to the second ranked project
20'000 CHF to the third ranked project
10'000 CHF to the fourth and fifth ranked projects

Thanks to EMBA the winnwer will be awared with a scholarship for the Master in Business Administration at USI.

Andromeda Innovation, Connect Switzerland, STARTUPS.CH and yourCFO, respectively, will offer the top three winners free business consulting sessions.

Thanks to the cooperation with the Swiss Economic Forum and with the Swiss Startup Invest the top five business projects will be admitted to the Swiss Economic Award and to the 3^rd Swiss Venture Day Ticino.

The objectives

With this initiative, and with its regular activities, the CP Start-Up - as part of the Regional Systems for Innovation -, the Cantonal Department of Finance and Economics, EFG and the institutional and co-operation partners aim to contribute to economic development and employment of the Canton of Ticino, fostering the emergence of the most innovative and promising business ideas, by encouraging and supporting the creation of new businesses.
